Leading brand name in FMCG food production, a household name in Ireland now seeking to hire multiskilled technicians for their Cavan plant which is also commutable from Dundalk, Louth, Monaghan and parts of Meath.

YOUR NEW JOB


As maintenance technician you will carry out diagnostics, repair or replace malfunctioning electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic components of equipment and carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan.
Day to day some of the main duties of the maintenance tech/engineer role will include

  • Carry out diagnostics and correct or replace malfunctioning electrical units.
  • Carry out diagnostics and ensure the replacement of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic components of equipment and machines which are faulty.
  • Organise safe maintenance principles for regulating and scheduling breakdowns.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan thus ensuring the plant is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Assisting with equipment upgrades from external contractors and Management to ensure all new equipment is commissioned to the agreed time frame.
  • Be proactive by routinely inspecting equipment, cabling panels, to ensure they are up to standard.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting and corrective actions to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
  • Problem solving ensuring a solution for all required tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance and manage contractors roles for electrical duties.
  • Ensure that electrical activity in the production areas conforms to quality standards and promotes excellent product and process quality.
  • Ensure that electrical activity in the production areas conforms to GMP standards and promotes a safe and healthy work environment through the continuous improvement of safety standards.






WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU


To hit the ground running in the maintenance technician/engineer roles you will have a at least 2 years maintenance experience ideally in a FMCG food sector.
You will be trades qualified computer Literate and able to use both Word & Excel
You will need to be flexible to work both days and night (i.e. Week One- 5 days, Week Two-2 days, Week Three, 5 nights and Week Four, 2 nights)
You will need to have the aptitude to apply lean principles in your day-to-day job as well as having a strong understanding and application of asset management principles, concepts,
