Lead Test Technician

My client is a market leading multi-national integrated manufacturer of automotive electronic systems for some of the world's largest car manufacturers. A multi-site operation the company have been in Cork for over 20 years and currently employ over 700 people across their Irish plants.

As Lead Test Technician some of your key duties will include

  • Supervision of the test technicians
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and improve both ICT and functional test equipment and processes.
  • Testing hardware maintenance and optimisation.
  • Failure rate elimination.
  • Manufacturing process improvements initiatives based on test failure data.
  • Providing full production support to meet productivity and efficiency.
  • Responsibility for environmental issues within your area and ensure you are working towards Company environmental targets..

You will hold a Cert/Diploma in Engineering (Minimum NFQ Level 6) in Electronic/Electrical and have 3+ years in Electronic Manufacturing in a test environment.

There is a salary ranging from the early 40's to early 50's along with pension, bonus and life assurance & 25% shift allowance. The company offers an excellent training and development programme and are very happy to support and fund degrees and masters for their employees. You'll also get to work in the automotive sector which is currently going through a period of huge innovation and technological change. If you were interested in working abroad down the line my client has lots of sister facilities across Europe available for secondment if you'd like to work and do some travelling.

With regards to the shift the system works to 39 hours per week rotating from Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday to Thursday/Friday/Saturday every 4 week period.
Example : Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday - nights for 2 weeks and then days for 2 weeks. Thursday/Friday/Saturday - nights for 2 weeks and then days for 2 weeks.
The shift pattern allows for one week off approximately every 2 months as part of the changeover from Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday to Thursday/Friday/Saturday.
