Junior Project Manager

Job Overview

The Project Administrator / Junior Project Manager will have worked in a fast-paced environment preferably on software development and/or mobile telecommunications projects. The Project Administrator will hold a project management qualification or certification in PMP or Prince 2). Hands-on experience with technical documentation, flowcharts and schedules are required. The Project Administrator / Coordinator will coordinate project activities, including simple tasks and larger plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating proposal meetings and ongoing discussions throughout the project life-cycle
  • Managing Project Sponsor/Client relations to ensure that project delivery expectations are specified and met
  • Acting as a mediator between the project members and the Project Sponsor/Client
  • Completing work breakdowns to estimate effort required for each task, task deadlines and ensuring tasks are assigned to the appropriate project team members
  • Tracking and resolving issues and escalating appropriately throughout the project life cycle
  • Effectively managing project scope by ensuring that changes to scope are documented and approved, and all parties are updated
  • Developing internal company tools, processes and best practices on an ongoing basis
  • Preparing regular status updates and presentations for Project Sponsor/Client and our senior management team
  • Preparing project plans and liaising with the project team members
  • Communicating project updates effectively to ensure buy in and project success (meetings, status updates, issue resolution)
  • Providing clear direction and motivation to project team
  • Controlling and monitoring project activities in accordance with processes and project life-cycle.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a Third Level Degree with 2 years experience as a Project Administrator / Project Coordinator.
  • Experience managing and liaising with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience working on project administration in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working on software development projects and/or in the Mobile telecoms industry a plus
  • Hands-on experience with flowcharts, technical documentation and schedules
  • Knowledge and strong experience of Microsoft project management software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent PM, organisation, and report writing skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Team spirit
  • BSc in Business Administration or related field
  • PMP / PRINCE2 certification
