Business Analyst ‐ Role Profile

Business Analyst This role will be responsible for providing Business Analysis support services as part of the successful delivery of a number of strategic IT projects for Bus Eireann incorporating activities such as requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation of project deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with the business and develop an in‐depth understanding of business areas and their key drivers to support effective business change to realise the benefits of proposed initiatives.
  • Work with the business to investigate, analyse, challenge and review business requirements, and identify, shape and evaluate ideas.
  • Leading workshops and requirement gathering exercises
  • Define, document and manage functional and non‐functional requirements in line with agreed standards and guidelines.
  • Work with the business to develop process maps to further understand the business and support requirements identification
  • Development of As‐Is and To‐Be process documentation with end users and stakeholders  Work closely with Architects and Developers to gain understanding of the feasibility of requirements, to ensure there is accurate interpretation of business requirements into IT specifications and to ensure the correct solution is delivered to meet business needs.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to support the preparation and execution of system and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop requirement traceability matrix documentation and assist with procurement evaluations

Essential Requirements:

  • Business Analyst qualifications advantageous
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Business Analysis or equivalent discipline, ideally within application environments
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of activities while able to motivate and empower others
  • Experience working on a transformation or a significant business change project
  • Demonstratable experience of stakeholder engagement and management with measurable outputs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in an organisation
  • Transport or public sector experience is a benefit
