Import/Export Clerk

Job Overview

We are seeking an Import / Export Clerk for an initial 3-month contract with a Killarney based manufacturing company. This position has become available due to planned increase in activity around import / export documentation in preparation for Brexit.

Ideally, the successful candidate should have experience of importing / exporting to countries outside of the EU. You will support documentation requirements with freight forwarder, understand customs documentation, review commodity codes to ensure these are correct and the right duty is being applied.

Activities:
*Preparing import/export documentation, and liaising with freight forwarders on shipping arrangements and schedules
*Liaising with local Chamber of Commerce on specific country requirements (e.g. certificates of origin)
*Processing packing lists and various other shipment related documents, as required

Candidate skills and experience:
*Should have experience working in a shipping, logistics, import or export department
*A working and up-to-date knowledge of European Customs procedures & practices, as well as third country Import / Export clearance and HS Codes
