THE COMPANY/OPPORTUNITY:

Our client a market leading equipment and machinery hire company with a well-established nationwide network of 27 locations are seeking to recruit a HSEQ Advisor to cover their Irish outlets.

In the HSEQ job you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge, advice and support in relations to all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality and you 'll be spending 90% of your time going to the branch network working with staff and customers to ensure that plant and machinery is being used in a safe manner.

This role reports into the National HSEQ Manager in the UK and with a dotted line to the Irish MD of the business
Initially working as part of a small team this function has traditionally been run from the UK so there is great scope for the person going in the Health & Safety job to build their own team over the next few years as well as potentially taking over the North of Ireland.

So, there is loads of opportunity for a motivated individual to grow, develop and broaden the scope of the HSEQ position.

YOUR NEW ROLE!
Day to day some of the key elements of the HSEQ job will include:

* Complete general, environmental & fire risk assessments in line with HSS procedures;

* Help coach managers to complete risk assessments and identify where high risk is evident and help managers to plan actions to lower the risk where possible;

*Investigate with managers the cause of serious accidents and incidents and help managers put preventative actions in place, also help review risk assessments after serious accidents;

*Complete customer incident investigations;

*Develop localised initiatives to drive HSEQ standards;

*Make summary reports after audits with action plans back to line managers and to HSEQ Co-ordinator, to input to monthly board report;

*Issue monthly and weekly summary reports to line managers detailing all visits to branches;

*Attend regional meetings to drive HSEQ standards and best practice;

*Liaise and engage with key regional stack holders on all areas of HSEQ;

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU!
Industry wise my client will consider candidates coming from the plant hire, manufacturing. construction, logistics, warehousing or other related sectors.

The ability to push back and be strong will be key and in the HSEQ job you will need the ability to liaise and work well with people from different parts of the business as well as having strong planning, time mgt & communications skills.

To be successful in this exciting and varied Health & Safety role you will need to be a real team player and highly analytical with the ability to investigate cause & trends.

Multi-site experience would be desirable and there will be a lot of travel across my clients' various branches nationwide so you will need to be comfortable with spending a lot of your time on the road!

Finally, you will have a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate qualification and you must have quality auditing skills for process audits with an awareness of 9001, 14001, 18001 will be an advantage for this role.
