Health and Safety Officer
Job Overview
Our Client, a food production company, based in Westmeath, is looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join their growing team. This is a newly acquired site in which this H&S function has been previously managed by a sister site. The company is now ready to have a dedicated H&S officer on this busy site where you will be supporting 170 staff.
The health and safety officer will report in to the site manager. You will be joining a company that actively promotes internally and encourages staff to cross train and advance their careers with them. This is a full time permanent job, Mon-Fri, offering a comprehensive benefits package and a very generous salary.

Some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the operations teams with implementing the safety policy and standards for the business with the end goal in keeping our employees safe and reducing accidents.
- Monitoring standards on our sites to establish and embed a culture of Health and Safety across the business.
- Communicating our plans, reporting performance, and continuously increasing awareness of safety on site.
- Completion of audits against agreed schedule.
- Completion of Fire Drills against agreed schedule.
- Training of people (Manual Handling, ERT, First Aid).
Requirements:
- Degree in Health and Safety or related discipline
- 1-2 years H&S experience working in a manufacturing environment
