YOUR NEW COMPANY:


My client is an established Irish company with several manufacturing sites across the country and part of a global group of companies that employ over 10,000 staff across over 100 sites globally with a turnover of €2.8Bn across 40 countries.
Currently recruiting for a H & S Officer for their South Tipperary manufacturing division who specialise is providing structural light gauge steel building systems for commercial, education residential and industrial developments to clients/construction projects nationwide.

YOUR NEW ROLE:


Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of projects my client is looking to recruit an EHS Officer and in this role you will ensure the both the manufacturing & construction sites deploys and is compliant with Environmental, Health and Safety legislation
Day to day some of your key duties will include:

* Working closely with Senior Management you will execute the action plan for EHS improvement, providing information to internal and external stakeholders
* You will maintain all Irish legal and the company's policies and standards related to EHS and promote a culture of good EHS practice
* Provide leadership and supervision for common EHS issues and concerns
* Identify trends, isolate root causes and support processes to ensure follow up actions are taken in a timely manner
* In the event of an accident / incident, facilitate investigations using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis and 5 Why's
*Support the planning, preparation and execution of scheduled plant maintenance shutdowns, including hands- on support
* Compile information and data from the EHS systems and ensure this is accurate and relevant
* Lead risk assessments including Serious Injury and Fatality assessments
* Create and update training materials
* Champion a Behavioural Based Safety System
* Develop and lead Safety Campaigns and Safety Days, ensuring an engaged and educated workforce
* Maintain an effective EHS management and SharePoint system

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:


Ideally you have 2 years + H&S experience and a mix of experience in both manufacturing & construction although my client is open to recent graduates who have completed relevant placements/internships during your studies.
You'll need a relevant H & S qualification, a full clean driver's licence and some relevant H & S experience in a relevant/similar sector.
You'll need an awareness of the application of EHS legal requirements within Ireland and ideally, you'll have behavioural Based Safety experience & formal risk assessments and accident / investigation reporting experience

There is a very competitive salary of €40k-€45k doe plus pension (5% employer & 5 % employee), sick pay scheme, company vehicle and diesel card, mobile phone, and laptop.

This is a day's role Mon-Fri, and the manufacturing plant is based in South Tipperary and you'll also be travelling to various construction sites around Munster & Leinster.
