Job Overview

On behalf of our client a leading provider of mental health services, we are recruiting for a GP/General medicine registrar.

The successful candidate will have active IMC Registration, and be in a position to start work as soon as possible.

Prior relevant experience is essential.

There are full-time hours available, but there may also be an option for job share, with family friendly working hours.

Medical Officer (General Practice)

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Overall Medical Performance and the proactive medical treatment and care of all residents

The Medical Officer, (a General Practitioner (GP)) is an appropriately qualified and registered medical professional with knowledge and skills to provide personal and comprehensive primary care medical services to residents.

The scope of the role is a mix of a number of high-level responsibilities coupled with the important ongoing and regular treatment and care of the residents of this facility

Priority responsibilities

  • Medical Emergencies
  • Medical Admissions
  • Health Assessments to comply with the Mental Health Commission Regulation 19, General Health and Codes of Practice on restraint
  • Chronic Care / Routine and Scheduled Care

On-going Treatment and Care

  • Routine Medication Review
  • Routine ward rounds
  • Care Planning Meetings
  • Family Meeting
  • Committee Meetings
  • Governance - Regulation Audits, Policies.
