Financial Controller

Job Overview

My client a leading manufacturer are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their business. This role will suit someone living in Fermanagh or Cavan. This is a full time , permanent role.

Reporting to: Company Director

You will be responsible for the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities ensuring they are carried out efficiently and in line with best practice

The Financial Controller will also provide insight and support with a focus on the development and monitoring of plans to drive performance and maximise profitability in a rapidly growing business environment.

Key Duties:

  • Managing a small team in leading and preparing the company accounts, ensuring accounting records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
  • Reporting of statistical government and statutory returns
  • Monthly management reporting cycle and all related analysis and commentary to support the effective management of expenditure by senior managers
  • Liaising with external advisors and external auditors to ensure financial integrity and, tax compliance
  • With the support of the factory manager prepare and review the monthly management report
  • Be a key part of the management team, review and report results and commercial analysis to the Director and working closely with the Management Team to contribute to the success of the business
  • Facilitate strategic plan, budgeting and forecasting reporting process
  • Prepare long term forecast and budget reports for key decision makers, summarising business plans, key risk and opportunities to the full year budget
  • Assist key decision makers with all necessary financial reporting
  • Preparation and control of cash flow: review approval and processing of payments
  • Develop methodology and financial models to build budget / forecasts down to product level
  • Develop systems to allow regular generation of analysis of product costing and profitability
  • Identification and tracking of relevant KPIs to monitor financial and non financial performance across the business

Skills, Experience and Qualification:

  • CIMA / ACCA or ACA Qualified
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food manufacturing environment advantage
  • Experience in managing staff
  • Strong on contributing to the development of business strategies
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to deal with different stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team including effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Evidence of well developed problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Evidence of strong planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work efficiently as a cohesive and contributing member of the team
  • Flexible
  • Valid and current driving licence
  • SAGE accounting advantage

My client is flexible with location as they have 2 x facilities where this role can be based Cavan or Fermanagh
