Financial Accountant | Offaly | Permanent Opportunity

Our client is a family run, proud designer and manufacture of some of the most regarded systems used across the world for both costal and inland developments and at present are seeking to hire a Financial Accountant to join their successful team in their head office based in Offaly.

Working closely with the company directors on all plans, assessing financial and strategic viability of projects and day to day accounting functions. You will be working with a team of three accountants who report into the Financial Accountant. The opinion of the Financial Accountant is highly regarded and is a key player in operations.

General duties:

  • Oversight for all returns [PAYE, VAT, Sub-Contractors] Ireland & UK
  • Responsible for day to day running of Accounts and Accounts Systems
  • Monthly Cash Flows
  • Oversight of Banking - Including timely Exchange Rate/Currency Management
  • Oversight for all returns [PAYE, VAT, Sub-Contractors], multi-location, Ireland & UK
  • Analysing input & manufacturing costs
  • Internal/External Audit
  • Cost-Tracking for various multiple Projects and advising on timely corrective actions as necessary.
  • Budgets/Forecasts & Financial Planning
  • Experience of working in Customs environment highly desirable.
  • Supervision / Management of Accounts staff, including monitoring work quality and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Systems: QuickBooks 6 & Micropay

The Ideal candidate will:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with 2-5 years PQE.
  • Will come from a manufacturing, construction, engineering, production, or Commercial background.
  • Exhibit key competencies in teamwork, highly organised and can work to changing deadlines.
  • Will be proactive, solutions driven with a strong commercial approach.
  • Will have excellent IT & Communication skills, including a high level of ability in all Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
  • Will have experience operating or exposure to international markets is desirable as company has offices based outside of Ireland.
  • Assertive in decisions and comfortable voicing opinion.
