Job Overview
On behalf of our client in North Dublin we are recruiting for a Financial Accountant (12 Month Contract).
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant with 2-3 years post qualified experience.
Experience working in a financial accountant role in retail or a similar commercial environment advantageous.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide timely, accurate and insightful financial & management reporting and analysis for the International business.
Your area of responsibility will include:
- Ownership of the preparation of the consolidated Group monthly management accounts.
- Collation, preparation and on time delivery of the Group monthly management reporting packs including KPI reports and business unit operational reports.
- Participate in and contribute to the interim and year end external audit process to ensure that the process runs smoothly and in accordance with the planning timetable and audit requirements.
- Review costs and assist with budgeting & forecasting with head office cost centre owners.
- Support the preparation of the Group consolidated year end audit file and liaising with Group Finance and external auditors in the preparation of Group financial statements and annual tax computations.
- Liaise with Group Finance, Shared Services Centre and business units in respect of inter-company charges, treasury, tax and other accounting issues.
- Work closely with Shared Services Centre to ensure delivery of efficient transactional support, including obtaining invoice approvals and ensuring GL coding is correct.
- Support the maintenance of proper systems of financial control, e.g. responsible for preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Responsible for maintaining oversight of bank accounts and set up online payments for approval as required.
- Assist in improving BI and Oracle reporting.
- Co-ordinate and prepare annual audit pack for head office companies for external auditors.
- Technical accounting analysis and provide advice on new / significant transactions and accounting standards.
What you will bring:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 2-3 years PQE.
- Post qualified experience working in group reporting or audit.
- Strong IT skills - Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, Oracle, GL Wand, ERP systems.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with different functions / regions / cultures / stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative.
- Comfortable presenting and reporting to senior management.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- A third level qualification in Business Studies or Accountancy.
