Financial Controller | South Cork Region | ACCA/ACA/CIMA

Introduction:
Our client, based in the South Cork region, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the administrative and financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Directors and ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.

Responsibilities:

Cross Functional:

Provide guidance to the Directors on administrative and financial requirements to support their roles effectively.
Ensure the most effective operation of the business through proactive engagement with various departments.

Planning:

Implement strategic business plans to drive the company's growth and financial success.
Develop and execute financial and tax strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee the capital request and budgeting process to ensure efficient resource allocation.

Operations:

Participate in key decision-making as a member of the management executive team.
Implement accounting, legal, tax, and treasury affairs in compliance with regulations.
Oversee the company's transaction processing system and account reconciliations.
Implement operational best practices and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Provide training to the finance unit and other staff members to enhance financial management knowledge.
Prepare monthly reports, financial statements, and cash flow projections for use by the Directors.
Oversee business insurance plans to mitigate risks effectively.

Financial Information:

Prepare accurate and timely financial information reports.
Review all forms issued to Revenue, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Report financial results to the Board of Directors in a timely manner.

Risk Management:

Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
Construct, implement, and maintain reliable control systems.
Ensure the integrity of the accounting systems and record keeping.
Meet the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
Report risk issues to the Board of Directors and propose appropriate solutions.
Maintain relations with external auditors, address their findings, and implement recommendations.

Funding:

Monitor cash balances and forecasts to support liquidity management.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

Professional certification (ACCA/ACA/CPA/CIMA).
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years in similar positions.
Mentorship skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven track record in a similar role.
