Finance Manager required for established Kildare organisation
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Participate in the development of the Business Unit strategy. Manage the implementation of the 10 Year and Budget Planning processes.
- Assess and direct the development and execution of significant business initiatives to ensure that requirements for profitability, ROCE and revenue growth are met.
- Provide the RR management team with the weekly & monthly financial information
- Actively participate in the management, development and deployment of business targets as a member of the senior management team.
- Provide the key interface between the business and wider finance accounting team, for long term planning, budgeting and forecasting processes. Participate in the development of the Business Unit strategy as a member of the management team with added focus on agreeing and achieving long term targets.
- Lead the 5 year financial planning process and convert Business Unit targets into plans, budgets, forecasts & KPIs.
- Establish a balanced suite of financial metrics (lagging measures) linked and driven by operational KPIs/measures (leading measures)
- Report on performance against targets, understand the reasoning behind variances, and challenge the business on recovery actions and risks and opportunities assessment.
- Embedding, cascading, and delivering on the systematic management and governance processes throughout the Area Mgt structure.
- Identify and support the drive for process and performance improvement.
- Support the development of pricing strategies, agreement of major contracts and margin delivery.
- Provide the business with accurate and timely financial information (special focus on the monthly finance reporting) to drive informed decision making including performance assessment, financial analysis and business scenario simulations.
- Provide insight and challenge to business managers and decision makers leveraging in-depth business and market knowledge.
- Report on performance against targets, understand the reasoning behind variances, and challenge the business on recovery actions and risks and opportunities assessment.
- Leading the financial cycle within an S&OP-based business management process.
- Rigorous governance on spending across the full P&L.
Your experience will include:
- Qualified Accountant
- Appropriate financial accounting qualifications in a high revenue generating business
- Operational management experience in commercial or operational roles in a customer facing business
- 5+ years' experience in senior financial management role, preferably in the Waste/Logistics Industry
- A track record of delivery of outstanding business performance and results
- A passion for results & performance management
