Field Service Engineer
Job Overview
My client, a leading multinational, are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team.
Within this position you will be responsible for providing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and installation support on various mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic PLC controlled units at their life science client sites.
Ideally you will be based in the West OR East of Ireland where you will be responsible for clients in your region, however some travel nationwide if required.

- Monday to Friday - some overnights will be required.

Responsibilities: (A Snapshot…)
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance required on product lines. This includes electro-mechanical disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating ready for use by using standard and specialized tools by using technical manuals, etc.
- Troubleshoot, repair or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned to ensure effective planning, utilization, and required paperwork completion. This includes, but is not limited to communicating schedule changes to the Customer Operations Department daily; computer synchronization daily; complete service reports and activities within two business days after completing a customer visit, maintain on-site Customer Service Logs/Total Maintenance Care books according to company procedures; and maintain tools and parts inventory to prescribed levels as required by Service Manager
- Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers. Communicate activities to customers include scheduling of Preventive Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work. Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to assure customer's expectations of service are exceeded.
Requirements:
- Strong background in electromechanical /electronic principals including PLC control, ideally Trades qualified or Diploma/Degree level. Relevant experience also considered as full training will be provided.
- Full Irish driving license is essential.
- Ability to demonstrate a proven track record in servicing and maintaining electro-mechanical PLC controlled systems and products as well as strong technical diagnostic skills. Work is 70% Mechanical v 30% Electrical/Control
- Good communication and organisational skills are essential as is the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
