Field Service Engineer

My client a market leading specialist in providing water treatment services across Ireland

are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer.
In this exciting and career advancing job your role will primarily involve commissioning, fault-finding, servicing and maintaining equipment and applications with a range of pharma clients primarily in the Cork region

Reporting to the Service Ops Manager the Field Service Engineer job has opened due to the continued growth of the business and this is primarily a Cork based field based role with some national & international based travel required occasionally.


You will receive extensive training and support and you will initially be working with an experienced colleague or Team Lead, so you'll receive plenty of support while you bed into the job.
My client are not afraid to make a big investment in you and your training & development and in return they are looking for someone who is ambitious and who will make a long term commitment to the company.

This is a day's role with some flexibility needed if a job needs some extra hrs outside of standard working hours to be completed. The salary for this role will be between 45-47k with overtime and on call allowance available for when the company needs you to make yourself available.

You will also be eligible for a lunch & breakfast allowance when on certain jobs and there is a very lucrative commission scheme available if you help convince the client to upgrade equipment.
You can also join a generous company pension scheme after 6 months and there is company share scheme available beginning the year after you start as well as holiday entitlement that goes up by 1 day for each year of your first 5 years in the company!

My client will meet candidates in Cork at the end of September and there will be one interview and offers will go out the next day so this will not be a long and drawn out interview process!


Some of the key elements on the Field Service Engineer job will include:

  • Provide a complete level of service to our customers on site to include, commissioning,

fault-finding, servicing, maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and validating all equipment and

  • Ensure that all equipment and products are left in a safe manner for customers to use.

  • Maintain all records and appropriate paperwork to do with client installations and work

carried out.

  • Create Service Reports for customer signature and complete all required paperwork on time.

  • Carry and maintain an up-to-date stock of spare parts

  • Participate in the On-Call Engineer Rota.

  • Maximise revenue opportunities by identifying revenue opportunities on site and by

informing the Company of new site developments.

  • Provide onsite briefings, tours, induction / training to customers and to colleagues and review technical documentation and write technical reports accurately in English.


You will have an electrical qualification and be experienced & comfortable working in a field service role. The technical breakdown of this role is 90% mechanical and 10% electrical but you will have to have an electrical qualification in order to be able to open electrical panels etc.
If you also had a maintenance fitter qualification that would be a big plus!

Ideally you will be used to working with pharma clients although my client will also consider people from the food production and other relevant industrial backgrounds.
