Document Controller

Job Overview

Our client a leading South East based contractor is seeking to recruit a Document Controller to join their team based in Carlow.
Main duties:

  • Ensuring the timely distribution of documents & drawings to project personnel
  • Maintenance of accurate records of all drawings and other construction documents issued by consultants and contractors through each stage of the project
  • Generate and distribute regular reports on the status handover documentation
  • Ongoing reviews/conduct quality checks on documentation
  • Responsible for version control and filing of all project documentation in accordance with current company practices and Quality procedures
  • Integrating data into electronic systems
  • Collation of handover files throughout the course of projects
  • Providing general department administration support
  • Compilation of relevant document and drawing for submittal
  • Issue submittal and RFI on clients electronic system and maintain submittal and RFI logs
  • Convert hardcopy inspection record into electronic copy and upload onto clients document management system
  • Ad hoc duties as required to ensure smooth running of the Document Control function


  • Previous experience in an admin or document controller position in a construction company / regulated environment ideally
  • Strongly proficient with IT, including MS Office
  • Ability to consistently meet multiple and often conflicting deadlines
  • Self-starter and strong attention to detail and proven ability to produce results on strict deadlines
  • Ability to work with all departments and all levels of an organisation
  • The ability to prioritise a large and varied workload
  • Well organised, self-motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
