Clinical Nurse Manager II-North Dublin

Job Overview

FRS Recruitment are have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNM II (Dementia/Elderly Care experience required).

This post is a full-time and permanent position- 40 hours over 5 days per week.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the delivery of effective, person centred and integrated care for individuals living with a Dementia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage professional and clinical standards using an evidence based, care planning approach.

  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and support service development through appropriate continuous education.

  • Manage resources efficiently and effectively to ensure the continuous quality improvement in service.

  • Facilitate team building, an on-going feedback culture and staff motivation.

  • Manage defined and devolved human resources functions, with particular emphasis on maximizing recruitment and retention of nursing and nursing support staff.

  • Formulate, manage, and implement best practice hospital policies and procedures.

  • Promote safety, health and welfare awareness among staff and ensure that all subordinates are aware of, adhere to and conduct established safety procedures.

  • Assist in the co-ordination of patient activities between clinical areas.

  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of nursing resources, advising on skill mix and staff allocation according to residents needs across the hospitals.

  • Assist in monitoring the implementation of service plans.

  • Ensure audit systems are in place to facilitate the constant evaluation of service and client care.

  • Ensure care plans are up to date and reflective of the care provided. Guide and train staff as necessary.

  • Monitor and investigate all complaints, clinical incidents or near misses and report findings to the Director of Nursing/ADON as appropriate.

  • Be the point of contact for family members of residents on allocated units for all problems and queries that arise. Schedule and attend family meetings addressing feedback and complaints in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Must be registered on the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

  • Must have previous experience working at CNM 2 level

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years post registration Care of the Elderly experience.

  • Have proven clinical and professional managerial ability, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Can efficiently and effectively manage human resources.

  • Be familiar with the policies, procedures, requirements, and standards as they

  • Have completed, or be willing to complete a recognised management degree course

  • Demonstrate sufficient clinical and professional knowledge to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role.

  • Previous experience in leading a team/management of other staff

  • Excellent communication & organisational skills

Experience:

  • previous experience working at CNM 2 level: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • NMBI Certificate (preferred)
