I am delighted to assist our client, a health care service provider, in recruitment for a Remotely working Clinical Nurse Coders.

Type of position: Full time (40h/week) or Part time (20h
Length of contract: permanent (6-9 months probation period)
Working hours: Day shifts, Monday to Friday, and every 3rd Saturday.
Salary: €Negotiable

Job description:

You will be responsible for reviewing and extracting clinical data including diagnoses and medical procedures, demographic and administrative data, and assessment information from U.S. home health and hospice medical records and charts, to accurately interpret this information into diagnosis codes, per coding guidelines.
Ongoing education and consulting with the client are essential to the success of this review process.

Main responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for accurate review of clinical data, assignment of codes based on coding conventions and reviewing OASIS and POC assessments for patient's episode of care.
  • You will update client's electronic medical record systems and communicate any additional recommended corrections to the assessing clinician.
  • You will be assigned to special projects requiring a nursing credential, where knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.

Your profile:

- Third level Nursing qualification, ie.BSc in Nursing or similar
- Ideally fully registered with NMBI. Registration from some other countries will be taken into consideration.
- Min of 4 years post qualification experience
- You will be ready to commit to a 2-4 year program
- You will have excellent attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- You will have the ability to work in a high pressure, target-driven environment with confidential patient information
- Knowledge and strict adherence to GDPR and ideally also to U.S. HIPAA regulations
- Excellent systems and computer aptitude.

- You will be willing to complete training in person (in Limerick) and online in order to achieve certification.
