Buyer- Northwest Cork

Job Overview

My client, a leading Manufacturer based in Northwest Cork, is in need of a Buyer to join their busy and growing Procurement Department.

This is a fantastic role for a Buyer who is looking to join an innovative and growing organization with opportunities for progression.

The duties required for the Buyer include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee a portfolio of Suppliers/Service Providers
  • Issue, Expedite, Defer and Cancel Purchase Orders (PO) to meet Customer demand
  • Optimise Supplier/Service Provider performance and the overall relationship
  • Achieve inventory levels in line with agreed targets
  • Identify, prevent and/or mitigate potential supply Issues
  • Source new Suppliers and services as required
  • Update and maintain system data to ensure accuracy
  • Support implementation of new products and design changes
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, company policies and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and special projects as requested

The requirements for the desired Buyer include but are not limited to:

  • Proficiency using MS Office applications. (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Previous experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred but not essential)
  • Able to work in a team environment and under own initiative
  • Able to prioritize, organize and work under pressure to specified deadlines
  • Strong numeracy skills with ability to think and react quickly
  • Results driven with a positive can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
