Experienced Butcher - Cork

Butcher required for Cork, who has a passion for butchery, has the ability to work on your own initiative and work well as part of a team.

Personal Qualities/Experience

  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Have good knife skills and knowledge of different meat cuts
  • Will have 3+ years' experience in a butchery/fresh meat environment
  • Will have the enthusiasm and a creative flair for working with food
  • Will be numerate and understand product costings and margins
  • Will be a reliable individual with a positive attitude
  • Will have strong interpersonal skills when interacting with customers, suppliers & colleagues
  • Will hold a full clean driving licence (desirable but not essential)
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge
  • Take pride in your personal appearance.
  • Ability to work in a tidy and safe manner
  • Ability to manage workloads and work to deadlines
  • Will have strong interpersonal skills when interacting with customers, suppliers & colleagues
  • Will hold a full clean driving licence (desirable but not essential)

Responsibilities

  • Drive a strong team culture of trust and commitment as an experienced member of the team.
  • Ensure that all HACCP and food safety policies & procedures are adhered to, to ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
  • Keep the customer at the heart of everything.
  • Ensure all products are prepared to recipe and merchandised to company standards.
  • Assist Head Butcher/Manager with daily planning and production of meat products for display
  • Assist team in planning promotions and creating food displays for social media content
  • Develop & maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • Stock rotation and ordering.

Hours: 45 hours pw over 5 days (Mon-Sat) falling between 7 am-5.45 pm (Mon-Fri) and 7 am-5.15 pm (Sat).

Additional Information:

No late-night opening; No Sunday opening (except in the run-up to Christmas week).
