Currently recruiting for an automation technician this permanent job offers an excellent salary of circa €50k & a benefits package including, life assurance, pension, subsidized canteen, 23 days holidays and a generous shift allowance.


The software technician maintains the existing electrical and automation infrastructure and applications. This means finding the solutions in place to be able to:

  • Perform troubleshooting activities on electrical and automation systems
  • Specify, Design, modify, configure, and verify electrical and automation systems
    1. oCommonly used automation systems onsite include:
      • PLC Allen Bradley Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC500,

In the Automation Technician role, you'll also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all electrical and automation applications and files are organized, backed up, maintained, and accessible to the local team.
  • Being the primary point of contact for all factory electrical and automaton needs
  • Keeping electrical drawings and documentation updated
  • Modifying the automation applications when operational changes are performed on the production lines
  • Managing industrial applications and hardware in the automation layer
  • Automation equipment change management policy/procedures
  • Meeting compliance with all company and local regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Managing Electricity and Automation equipment standardization for plant

Ideally you will be an Automation or Control technician with 2-3 years' experience in automation in packaging or manufacturing background.
You will have an electrical qualification with software experience, and you'll definitely need to have proven experience as trouble-shooter of last resort in electrical systems in a packaging/ manufacturing facility.

This role requires an in-depth knowledge of electricity, in low voltage and a good knowledge of local electrical guidelines and standards
You will need a decent grasp of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems, HMIs, PLCs: Rockwell etc
A knowledge of food processing operations and technology would be highly advantageous and you'll also have a good understanding on MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
