Assistant Accountant

Job Overview

Our client, a 100M+ turnover company is currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis in Dublin.

You will ideally be a Part Qualified Accountant with at least 12 months experience working within industry.

Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of Annual Overhead Budgets
* Detailed monthly overhead variance analysis, comparison to budget, reporting, and liaison with relevant departments
* Assist the Finance Manager with cost reduction initiatives
* Processing overhead invoices
* Ensuring relevant authority approval
* Monitoring monthly expense claims and ensuring compliance with Company's Expenses Policy
* Processing and reconciling intercompany recharges
* Processing monthly payments both cheques, BACS, and online banking
* Detailed monthly overhead variance analysis, comparison to budget, reporting, and liaison with relevant departments
* Preparation of Annual Overhead Budgets
* Preparation of monthly Bank Reconciliations for Sterling and Euro Accounts
* Reporting of Weekly Cash Return
* Liaison with Bunzl Plc's Treasury Team to forecast and manage our foreign exchange requirements
* Complete VAT returns for ROI and UK activities.
* Annual VAT declaration
* Maintain VAT master files
* Provide cover for payroll function

Skills & Competencies
* Studying for a Recognised Accountancy Body,
* A minimum of 1 years practical experience in a finance role
* Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail, thoroughness and a methodical and logical approach to work
* Works at a pace that matches the requirements of this fast moving business and recognises the importance of meeting deadlines
* Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others
* Shares relevant information and resources with others as required, within the constraints of a confidential ethos of a Finance Team
* Ability and willingness to follow instructions of management, and respond to requests from others in the team in a helpful manner
* Ability to adapt and contribute work and effort to group performance to meet agreed upon objectives and achieve team success
* Knows appropriate way of communicating with customers, peers and line managers and external stakeholders
