Area Sales Manager - Agri

Job Overview

FRS are now inviting applications for the role of 'Area Sales Manager - Agri' on behalf of our Client, a leading Irish Agri Business based in Co.Cork.
This is a full time permanent role which will see the successful candidate responsible for the effective management of a designated Sales Area in the Munster Region to provide sales advice, support and technical knowledge to the Clients agribusiness customers.

The Role:
Reporting to the Business Manager - Dairy, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Sales
* Analyse and interpret weekly, monthly and annual sales performance and take appropriate steps to correct below budget performance
* Using an effective territory plan, exploit all opportunities to sell by ensuring that all existing and potential customers are proactively contacted regularly in a timely and efficient manner
* Provide accurate and relevant product information to assist customers in buying choices

Planning
* In conjunction with the management team, prepare an annual sales budget; include detail on products, potential new business and plans on regaining lost business
* Participate in the development of strategies for the further expansion of sales of the widest possible range of Society products to all existing and potential customers
* Create and maintain a comprehensive territory plan, including a journey plan for each business phase within the year.

Recording
* Maintain an up-to-date customer profile for your area in a way that sales potential can be readily compared with results achieved.
* Maintain a record of all customer contacts through the CRM system.

Communicating
* Build an Agri sales team in your area comprised of branch personnel that can assist in the sales drive and maintain effective communication with the team. Such communication will be aimed at aggressive promotion of Society products and offerings
* Inform yourself on developments relating to issues on milk supply, grain, new regulations, rules and procedures which will impact relations between milk supplier, grain suppliers, shareholders and the Society

Credit Management
* Manage customer accounts to ensure that they are kept up to date in accordance with Society credit policy and utilise the most efficient system of accounts payment within your area. Understand best practice and strive for same.

* Promote a safety-first culture, quickly identify & resolve any safety hazards.

Candidate Profile:

* Have a B.Agr.Sc degree or similar qualification
* Have demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role, sales/inside sale and/or customer
* Require strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence others and a proven working relationship with people
* Have passion to apply key continuous improvement principles in a fast-moving sales environment.
* Strong business acumen, customer focus, commercially aware and good problem solver
* Possess a strong technical ability
* Be numerate and IT literate, and be familiar with the following software packages e.g. Microsoft Office and CRM systems
