Applications Support Engineer

Job Overview

Currently seeking an Applications Support Engineer to join a manufacturing company based in County Meath

This role requires someone with drive, the desire to learn, an outgoing personality and the ability to work on various projects at once. Organisational skills in managing own responsibilities and time to achieve objectives and deadlines are a must

Role and Responsibility:

  • Provide technical product and application support for the sales team.
  • Specify suitable product/system based on application detail.
  • Provide instrumentation design support primarily in gas panel and process panel builds.
  • Assist in the customer needs analysis, sign off and system design process.
  • Enable handover to the production of agreed specifications.
  • Provide Pre-Sales & Post-Sales support.
  • Generate customer documentation.
  • Host customer visits and audits to ensure customer sign-off.
  • Review documentation and provide feedback based on customer experiences.

Requirements, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of Gas detection, safety or/and hazardous area systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience with CAD or other layout design software.
  • Experience in supporting or maintaining instrumentation engineering within bio, pharma, semicon, water organisations, etc.
  • Problem-solving, "can do" attitude and prepared to learn new things.
  • Scientific or technical qualifications
  • Self-motivated and a team player with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and to make sound decisions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to write and edit technical papers.
  • Ability to methodically approach the process of product support, including problem diagnosis, and customer satisfaction.
  • Good team player able to listen, analyse and disseminate information.
  • MS Office packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with CAD would be an advantage.
