Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Working with The Financial Controller, Finance Team Leader and the Finance Team:

* Weekly and Monthly Management Accounts
o Ensure timely and accurate sales ledger, purchase ledger and journal processing
o Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
o Analytical review versus budget and last year
o Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries in a timely and efficient manner
* Ensuring that accounting records are maintained in accordance with accepted policies and procedures
* Taxation
o PAYE Returns
o VAT Returns
o VIES Returns
o Diesel Rebate Claim
o Customs TAN Account Reconciliation
* Inter company Transactions
o Ensure accurate and efficient inter company recording and recharge process
o Recharges
o Reconciliations
* Projects / Reviews
o Reviewing, developing and implementing appropriate controls and procedures
o AR ledger reviews
o AP ledger reviews
o Support other ad-hoc tasks and projects

* Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately
* Analytical thinker and problem solver
* Competent IT skills, particularly proficient with spreadsheet software
* High level of accuracy
* Extremely organised in a manner that is easily read by others
* Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information
* Administrative skills
* Previous experience of general accounting

IT Skills:
* PC literacy, MS Outlook, Excel to a high standard and Word
* Proficiency in relevant accounting software, ideally Pegasus

* Level 5 and Level 6 Business Administration, book-keeping and finance
* Work Experience Equivalent
* Studying or interested in studying for an accounting technician or accounting qualification
