Yard Supervisor – Waste & Recycling
Location: Navan, Co. Meath

A leading recycling and waste management company is seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone with strong yard operations experience who is confident managing a small team in a busy waste facility.

The Role

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Yard Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the yard and transfer shed, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental standards. Duties will include:

  • Supervising and scheduling yard operatives to meet operational needs.

  • Managing traffic entering the civic amenity area and waste tipping shed.

  • Operating heavy machinery such as forklifts, loading shovels, and diggers when required.

  • Ensuring all health & safety and EPA requirements are met.

  • Keeping the yard clean, safe, and bins regularly emptied.

  • Participating in weekly site management meetings and contributing to cost-saving initiatives.

  • Acting professionally and courteously with colleagues and members of the public.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar yard, waste, or recycling environment.

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team.

  • Licences for forklift and experience driving 360/digger machinery (essential).

  • Manual handling certification.

  • Strong practical skills and a hands-on approach.

  • Flexibility to work across different areas when required.

  • Own transport (mandatory).

  • Eligibility to work in Ireland and fluency in English.

Experience within the waste and recycling sector is a distinct advantage.

The Package

  • Permanent role based in Navan.

  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with occasional Saturday work required.

  • Overtime available, paid at time and a half.

  • On-site, one-stage interview process.
