Working Hours: Monday to Friday (No nights or weekends)
Salary Range: €60,854 – €76,897 (HSE Payscales)

FRS Recruitment is proud to partner with a respected private healthcare provider in Mullingar to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Urology. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse seeking a leadership role in a supportive and progressive clinical environment.

Role Overview

The Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist will play a key role in delivering advanced clinical care, patient education, and emotional support to individuals with urological conditions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to promote early intervention, ensure continuity of care, and uphold the highest standards of practice in line with national guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical nursing care to patients with urological conditions across all stages of care.

  • Deliver evidence-based education and support to patients and their families.

  • Lead on care coordination and liaise effectively with consultants, GPs, and allied health professionals.

  • Actively contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audit.

  • Support the implementation of national policies and clinical guidelines within the urology service.

Requirements

  • Registered in the General Division of the NMBI.

  • Minimum 3–5 years post-registration experience in an acute care setting.

  • A recognised post-registration qualification in Urology (or consideration for those with renal/dialysis experience).

  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and professional development in urological or related nursing care.

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and clinical IT systems.

  • Experience in risk management, clinical audit, and service evaluation is desirable.
