Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review temporary works schemes for tower crane installations, including foundations, supports, and lifting systems.

  • Carry out risk assessments and prepare method statements for crane erection, operation, and dismantling.

  • Work closely with crane suppliers, site teams, and project managers to coordinate designs and ensure safe, efficient project delivery.

  • Prepare, review, and approve temporary works drawings, calculations, and installation procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards (including BS 5975) and industry best practices.

  • Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the safety and integrity of temporary works.

  • Maintain accurate records of designs, inspections, and approvals.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to site teams regarding tower crane-related temporary works.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, or a related Engineering discipline.

  • Proven experience in temporary works design and management for tower crane projects.

  • Excellent understanding of tower crane types, installation processes, and associated works.

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar) is advantageous.

  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSCS, SMSTS, IOSH) are required.

  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
