Social Care Team Leader – Disability residential Roscommon

Location: Roscommon

Salary: €56,000 to €66,000 (HSE Scales), 40 hours per week

Are you an experienced and dedicated Social Care Team Leader seeking a rewarding career in a Disability residential service? Join our passionate team that provides person-centred, community-based supports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, offering day, residential, respite, outreach, family, and multidisciplinary services. We are seeking an innovative, flexible, and motivated individual to join our team in supporting this vision.

Key Responsibilities:

The Team Leader plays a key role in managing the day-to-day delivery of services, providing leadership, supervision, and support to staff while ensuring high-quality, person-centred care in line with national standards. Main responsibilities include

  • leading and supporting staff teams, managing rosters and resources
  • overseeing person-centred planning
  • promoting community integration and independence
  • safeguarding service users
  • maintaining accurate records
  • ensuring compliance with HIQA and organisational policies
  • fostering positive relationships with service users, families, and professionals.
  • staff development, training, auditing
  • working frontline with service users to support them in achieving their goals.

Requirements:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification in Social Care or Health (e.g. Nursing with NMBI registration, or Social Care qualification registered/eligible with CORU by Nov 2025).

  • QQI Level 6 qualification in Health & Social Care Management (or commitment to obtain before starting).

  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience working with people with an intellectual disability.

  • Experience managing and leading staff teams (advantage).

  • Strong commitment to community integration, human rights, and advocacy.

  • Experience with autism and behaviours of concern (advantage).

Skills:

  • Proven leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Knowledge of person-centred planning (e.g. Personal Outcome Measures).

  • Understanding of HIQA Standards, Health Act 2007 regulations, and New Directions for Day Services.

  • Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and work with a person-centred approach.

  • Full clean manual driving licence and own car.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
