Social Care Worker – Children's mainstream residential service – Tipperary– Permanent full time
Salary: €15-16 per hour
Are you an experienced and dedicated Social Care Worker seeking a rewarding career in a children's mainstream residential service? Join our passionate team in Tipperary. We also have toher locations in Co. Laois or Offaly, providing comprehensive care for vulnerable young people
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team while ensuring quality care for service users.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for young people, focusing on their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
- Implement individual care plans, considering unique needs and circumstances.
- Be accountable for supporting the day to day running of the service and responsible for the execution and delivery of person-centred approach.
- Monitor and supervise, responding effectively to behavioural or emotional issues.
- Be committed to pro-actively supporting service users in their daily lives and choices.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, development, and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with families, and colleagues.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and collaborate with professionals for comprehensive care.
- Support educational activities and address learning or behavioural challenges.
- Organise recreational and social activities, fostering a positive and inclusive community.
- Handle crises and emergencies, following established protocols and collaborating with external agencies.
- Stay informed about best practices and legislative changes.
Requirements:

The successful candidate must have attained a
- BA in Applied Social Care Work (level 7/8) or equivalent
Equivalent:
- QQI Level 8 in Psychology
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling/ Psychotherapy
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
- QQI Level 7 on Youth and Community or similar
- QQI Level 7 in Social Science/Social Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Family Support
- Professional Qualification in Teaching (Not TEFL)
- Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
- Full Irish manual driving license.
- Have full eligibility and availability to work with us
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment supporting children or young adults
