My client, a leading manufacturer in the aviation industry is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their busy site based in Carrigtwohill.
The Senior Procurement Specialist will take ownership of procurement strategies, inventory management, and vendor performance to support seamless production and operational flow. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate across operations, finance, and supply chain teams to deliver cost-effective solutions, maintain optimum inventory levels, and support corporate procurement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for product categories.
- Ensure continuous supply and optimum inventory levels, while managing obsolete stock and excess inventory.
- Collaborate with operations to develop production plans aligned with budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and manage reorder points, lead times, and quantities to meet business requirements.
- Attend daily production meetings to track requirements and resolve purchasing issues.
- Manage purchase orders, delivery discrepancies, and support PO closures.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization and streamline inventory processes.
- Vet, approve, and manage vendor relationships, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with quality standards.
- Actively manage lead-time deliveries and participate in cost reduction initiatives.
- Report on material usage, vendor performance, and procurement metrics.
- Engage with corporate supply chain functions, leveraging corporate negotiations and knowledge.
Requirements for the desired Senior Procurement Specialist
- 3rd level qualification in Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain processes.
- Strong organizational and administration skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office; ERP experience is advantageous.
- Flexible, proactive, and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship-building and coaching abilities, with a “can-do” attitude.
