Senior Occupational Therapist – Dublin East Services

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join a well-established disability service in the Dublin East region. The successful candidate will support children and young people with complex needs, working as part of an Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) under the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people with a range of disabilities.

  • Work collaboratively as part of an IDT/MDT to develop and deliver family-centred care plans.

  • Support service users to achieve their potential in areas such as daily living skills, play, sensory processing, and participation in community life.

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to staff grade OTs and students as required.

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service planning, development, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure all practice is in line with organisational policies, PDS guidelines, and national best practice standards.

Requirements

  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential).

  • A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in the field of paediatrics or disability.

  • Full Irish Driving License
  • Strong knowledge of child development, autism, sensory processing, and family-centred practice.

  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the Progressing Disability Services model.

  • Experience supervising staff or students.

  • Training in specialist approaches (e.g., Sensory Integration, Feeding/Mealtime Management, Assistive Technology).
