Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Loans Officer to join their Lending Team. This role involves assessing, processing, and approving a variety of loan applications, including personal, business, overdraft, reschedule, and mortgage applications. The Senior Loans Officer will provide support to the lending team, contribute to credit policy discussions, and deputise for management when required.
Key Responsibilities

Assess and underwrite loan applications, reviewing repayment capacity, financial circumstances, and credit reports.

Manage business loan queries and applications (primarily over €25K).

Approve loans within delegated authority and escalate complex cases to management or committees.

Review reschedules, extensions, and overdraft requests.

Communicate application outcomes to members efficiently and professionally.

Deputise for Assistant Managers when required.

Support smooth operation of the Lending Team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Contribute to credit policy and participate in relevant committees.

Complete administrative tasks related to loan processing and reporting.
Candidate Profile

Minimum 2–3 years’ underwriting experience.

APA in Loans and Savings & Investments minimum requirement

Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

Proficiency in IT (experience with Wellington IT/Scion an advantage).

Additional third-level or professional qualification desirable.
