Urgent Opportunity for a Senior IT Engineer
Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford
I am working with a leading Irish MSP in their search for a Senior IT Engineer to join their growing technical support team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize critical infrastructure: firewalls, switches, servers (on-prem and cloud), storage, PBX, MDM, backup solutions, and virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Conduct detailed security reviews across network and server environments, implement MFA, VPN security, patching, and compliance.
- Manage site documentation, update knowledge bases, passwords, and support site maintenance.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to recommend and implement system improvements.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with servers, firewalls, cloud solutions, endpoint security, and backup systems.
- Operational knowledge of modern workplace tools (M365, Intune, Azure).
- Proven ability to work both independently and within a team, with excellent client-facing skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- FortiGate NSE 4 / FCP, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Azure & Intune expertise.
- Windows Server/Active Directory proficiency, virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Backup solutions experience (Datto or equivalent).
