A well-established business in the retail and e-commerce sector is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will focus on financial operations across retail locations and e-commerce, while also supporting other areas of the business. This is a full time, permanent office based position with a 1:00 pm finish on a Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including bank, intercompany, and sales reconciliations within set deadlines.
- Develop and present quarterly management accounts, annual budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stocktakes.
- Manage statutory VAT returns across multiple business units.
- Oversee weekly payroll processing and related financial information.
- Contribute to costing and strategic projects to enhance financial performance.
- Maintain and enhance internal financial controls to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Support year-end financial reporting and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead and assist with various ad hoc financial projects as required.
Key Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience in Ireland or the UK.
- Proven experience in accounts reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and present financial information clearly.
- Advanced IT and Excel skills, with experience using multiple financial systems.
- Prior experience managing a small team and overseeing payroll.
- Retail sector experience is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills.
