Our client, a world-class engineering organisation based in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join their high-performing development team.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and development of innovative motor controller and servo-drive products used in aerospace and high-reliability applications worldwide. You'll be part of a collaborative team working in an EN9100/AS9100D environment, with access to state-of-the-art tools, technologies, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality analog, digital, and power electronic hardware for advanced motion control systems
- Ensure designs meet performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory standards
- Apply DFM(Design for Manufacture) and DFT(Design for Test) principles
- Manage full hardware lifecycle from requirements to integration and testing
- Participate in technical design reviews and project milestone reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams
- Provide occasional on-site customer support as required
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering(minimum 2nd Class Honours)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a relevant role
- Strong skills in analog, digital, and power electronics design
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project execution skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Desirable Skills
- Experience with permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM)
- Knowledge of power conversion topologies and thermal design
- Familiarity with VHDL and FPGA-based design
- Real-time embedded systems experience
- Understanding of communication protocols(e.g. A/D, D/A, optical encoders)
- Project management experience is a plus
