FRS are partnering with a dynamic and growing organisation in the engineering sector to recruit a Senior Accountant. This is a role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, improve processes, and partner closely with senior stakeholders to drive business performance.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial reporting, governance, and strategic decision-making, while leading and developing a high-performing finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present regular financial reports, including:
- Departmental profit & loss
- Budget vs. forecast analysis
- Analyse financial performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations
- Lead and supervise the finance function, including:
- Payroll
- Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
- Ensure the integrity and efficiency of financial systems, databases, and reporting tools
- Maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with statutory and financial regulations
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all tax and regulatory returns (including CSO)
- Deliver accurate and timely management reporting to support decision-making
- Partner with senior leadership to support achievement of company objectives
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements
- Support both short-term and long-term strategic planning
- Engage with and present insights to the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team
- Support internal audits and conduct detailed cost reviews, including payroll analysis
- Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of systems and financial tools
Key Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, within industry
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
- Experience managing and developing junior team members
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Power BI– advantageous
