FRS are partnering with a dynamic and growing organisation in the engineering sector to recruit a Senior Accountant. This is a role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, improve processes, and partner closely with senior stakeholders to drive business performance.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial reporting, governance, and strategic decision-making, while leading and developing a high-performing finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including:
    • Departmental profit & loss
    • Budget vs. forecast analysis
  • Analyse financial performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • Lead and supervise the finance function, including:
    • Payroll
    • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
  • Ensure the integrity and efficiency of financial systems, databases, and reporting tools
  • Maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with statutory and financial regulations
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all tax and regulatory returns (including CSO)
  • Deliver accurate and timely management reporting to support decision-making
  • Partner with senior leadership to support achievement of company objectives
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements
  • Support both short-term and long-term strategic planning
  • Engage with and present insights to the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team
  • Support internal audits and conduct detailed cost reviews, including payroll analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of systems and financial tools

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, within industry
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
  • Experience managing and developing junior team members
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Power BI– advantageous
