The Quality Engineering Manager role offers responsibility for leading quality activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position manages a small team and is accountable for maintaining standards, driving improvements, and ensuring compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Quality function, including direct reports.

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective/preventive actions.

  • Lead internal and external audits (ISO, ATEX, customers, notified bodies).

  • Drive product and process quality improvements using proven tools.

  • Conduct inspections of materials and products, preparing detailed reports.

  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering to implement robust quality measures.


Requirements:

  • Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Engineering or related technical field.

  • Minimum 3 years in a senior Quality role within manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards (ISO9001:2015, ISO17025, ISO14001, ATEX).

  • Experience leading audits; Lead Auditor and Lean Six Sigma preferred.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
