Our client, a well-established name in food manufacturing,
is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician
to join their quality assurance team in West Cork.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with experience or interest in food safety and quality standards to contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality food products.
Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting quality checks and inspections throughout the production process, ensuring compliance with all food safety protocols. You will play a key part in supporting consistent product quality and maintaining regulatory standards within a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections of production lines
- Perform sensory and quality evaluations on products to ensure specifications are met
- Calibrate essential equipment including scales and thermometers on a daily basis
- Monitor and document temperature controls to ensure product safety
- Enforce GMP and support compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain accurate HACCP documentation and records
- Collect and analyse product samples for quality assurance purposes
- Work closely with the production team to address and resolve quality issues
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification in Food Science, Quality, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards, and food quality systems
- Experience in a manufacturing or quality control role, preferably in the food industry
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable using IT systems and software for record keeping
- Physical capability to handle lifting up to 30kg, occasionally up to 50kg
