Project Manager (Engineering) – SCADA & Control Systems

Our client is a long-established and highly respected provider of communications, SCADA, and instrumentation solutions across a range of critical sectors — including water, power, utilities, corporate, broadcasting, and public safety. With a track record dating back to the early 1980s, they combine industry heritage with technical innovation to deliver integrated solutions to public and private clients nationwide.
They are now looking for an experienced Project Manager (Engineering) to lead the deployment of cutting-edge integrated systems from initiation through to completion.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As the primary customer contact, you’ll manage delivery, resources, risks, costs, and client relationships while ensuring seamless handover to the support function.
Core Responsibilities:

Manage client relationships and set expectations from project kick-off to handover

Deliver projects in SCADA, PLC, HMI, and control systems to time, scope, and budget

Lead cross-functional teams, internal engineers, and external suppliers

Mitigate risk and resolve technical or commercial issues proactively

Maintain rigorous cost control and contract compliance (including NEC3 and CDM)

Implement change control and variations through structured processes

Ensure operational support readiness post-project go-live

Produce detailed reports for internal stakeholders and clients
About You: What You Bring
-
3+ years' experience in technical project management within IT/Telecoms or Engineering
-
Background in industrial automation, control systems, or similar (SCADA/PLC/HMI exposure highly desirable)

Strong knowledge of project methodologies(PRINCE2, APMP, etc.)

Solid experience with external customer and contract management

NEC3 and CDM knowledge

High emotional intelligence with strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills

Commercially aware with a focus on delivering value and protecting margins
