Production Manager
A leading manufacturing company in Galway is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily operations for a range of smart tech products. This role offers the opportunity to drive performance, quality and continuous improvement within a forward-thinking and innovation focused environment.
You will take responsibility for all day-to-day production activity, ensuring output, quality, efficiency, and safety targets are consistently achieved. The position requires strong coordination across engineering, operations, R&D, and after-sales teams, particularly as new technologies and products are introduced into manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production operations, ensuring targets for quality, throughput, and efficiency are met
- Develop and maintain production schedules, aligned with demand and capacity plans
- Track and report on KPIs including efficiency, downtime, yield, and throughput
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with HSE standards
- Support new product introduction through close collaboration with engineering and R&D
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean, 5S, and structured problem-solving tools
- Optimise labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity
- Maintain accurate production documentation and administrative records
- Oversee purchasing of components and consumables in line with production needs
- Work alongside after-sales teams to support product readiness and performance improvements
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in a production management or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and people management ability
- Demonstrated experience with ERP or MRP systems and production scheduling
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with a collaborative approach
- Ability to perform in a fast paced and innovation driven environment
