Production Manager – Manufacturing
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a Production Manager to oversee the production of specialist equipment at its site in Co. Meath. This is a permanent, on-site position offering the opportunity to lead a skilled team, drive efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
Job Purpose
The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise, and control production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.

Manage day-to-day operations including workforce performance, machinery utilisation, and material flow.

Monitor production KPIs (output, efficiency, downtime, scrap, OEE, etc.) and implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO, Lean, 5S, etc.).

Lead, train, and motivate the production team to achieve performance targets.

Collaborate with supply chain, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.

Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.

Manage production budgets for labour, materials, and overheads.

Prepare reports for senior management on production performance and improvement plans.

Support new product introductions, process changes, and quality improvement projects.

Coordinate service teams for installations, servicing, and breakdowns.

Oversee logistics planning and organisation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced manufacturing professional with a strong track record in leadership, process improvement, and achieving production targets.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management ability.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.

Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Organisational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal ability.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production data analysis.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
5–10 year's experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Proven track record of delivering production targets and managing teams.

Experience with health & safety and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).

Background in mechanical, welding, or electronic manufacturing is desirable.
