On behalf of our client – a leading player in Ireland’s renewable energy sector – we are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to oversee the operations of power generation assets based in Offaly.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, reporting directly to the Thermal Plant Manager.

This role is ideal for a highly experienced operations professional with a background in steam boiler/turbine plant operations, a passion for renewable energy, and strong people leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities;

  • Oversee the operational management of renewable energy generation assets, ensuring optimal availability and performance.

  • Lead the operations team to deliver plant performance in alignment with maintenance functions, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

  • Coordinate operations planning, reporting, and logistics, including acting as Windfarms Operational Controller when required.

  • Ensure efficient material procurement and contract management processes are in place and adhered to within budgetary constraints.

  • Liaise with compliance and trading functions to ensure both regulatory adherence and financial optimisation.

  • Support the rollout of the Renewable Energy Business Management System and manage interfaces with regulatory bodies and accreditation organisations.

  • Drive team development initiatives including long-term resource planning, succession management, and engagement strategies.

  • Champion a strong health and safety culture across all operations.

  • Manage and develop direct reports through performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Degree qualified – BSc in Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior operations or production management role.

  • Proven track record in people leadership, operations strategy, and performance management.

  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, commercial optimisation, and health & safety legislation.
