My client, a leading manufacturer based in Millstreet, Co. Cork is in need of a Procurement and Stock Control Specialist to join their Supply Chain team.

The responsibilities for the Procurement and Stock Control Specialist include:

  • Creating and tracking purchase orders, resolving non-conformance, and managing shipments.
  • Collaborating with Sales & Operations to proactively prevent stock-outs.
  • Analysing supply and demand to forecast inventory needs and avoid shortages or excess.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels against agreed targets.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with purchasing and stock control SOPs.
  • Acting as the go-to point of contact for purchasing and stock control queries.
  • Supporting colleagues with workload balance and providing holiday/sickness cover when needed.
  • Partnering with warehouse teams to ensure smooth stock-taking with minimal disruption.
  • Investigating and resolving supply chain issues such as shortages, discrepancies, and overstock.
  • Producing regular reports and insights to drive improvement.
  • Participating in continuous improvement projects across Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Conducting inventory audits and maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Updating inventory management systems accurately and efficiently.

The requirements for the desired Procurement and Stock Control Specialist include:

  • 3+ years’ experience in procurement, stock control, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel ability (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and with vendors.
  • A proactive problem solver with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and electronic ordering systems.
