Role Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for a Process Engineer to join a progressive manufacturing team in Monaghan. The role is ideal for a motivated, hands-on professional with a strong engineering background, seeking to lead production optimisation efforts, deliver process improvements, and support a culture of continuous improvement.
This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing plant performance through engineering innovation, collaboration across departments, and involvement in both operational excellence and research and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Optimise plant performance by improving yields, line speeds, changeover efficiency, and raw material usage.

Attend and contribute to Production, Planning, and Health & Safety meetings, executing agreed actions.

Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives involving Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering.

Propose and manage capital projects and process modifications from design through to commissioning and implementation.

Maintain and enhance process documentation, including SOPs and technical specifications.

Organise and deliver training to ensure deep process knowledge across the workforce.

Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to improve safety and reliability.

Promote Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, SMED, SPC, PDCA, and FMECA.

Deliver cost-saving initiatives in line with annual improvement targets.

Lead and support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects throughout the facility.

Develop and manage KPI boards and visual management tools to track and improve performance.

Collaborate closely with R&D teams based in Ireland and France on product development.
Candidate Profile
-
Degree-qualified in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science/Engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement tools, and methodologies such as FMECA, SPC, and DOE.

Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including automation and mechatronics.

Proven project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Practical and solutions-oriented with a strong drive for innovation.

Qualified in Risk Assessment; certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master are advantageous.

Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
