About the role:
This standalone People & Culture Officer is a key role for someone who can combine HR expertise with a hands-on approach to culture, development, and performance. The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of employee engagement, development, compliance, and culture. You will work closely with teams to support every stage of the employee journey — from recruitment & training to performance & progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion values and help embed a strong, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Partner with management to align people strategy with business goals and operational excellence.
- Lead well-being, engagement, and communication initiatives that connect and inspire the workforce.
- Oversee the end-to-end apprenticeship life-cycle — recruitment, on-boarding, mentoring, tracking, and qualification.
- Liaise with SOLAS, ETBs, and industry bodies to ensure all training programmes meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Develop structured training and upskilling programmes for all employees, ensuring technical and professional growth.
- Maintain training records and compliance documentation (Safe Pass, Manual Handling, certification renewals, etc.).
- Manage recruitment campaigns for apprentices, electricians, and professional roles.
- Build strong relationships with colleges, schools, and local networks to promote electrical careers.
- Deliver a smooth onboarding experience.
- Coordinate performance management processes, including reviews, goal setting, and personal development plans.
- Support managers to identify training needs and implement growth pathways for employees.
- Develop initiatives to recognise and reward excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Irish employment law, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
- Support disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes where required.
- Provide regular HR insights and reporting to senior management.
Skills / Qualifications
- 2–5 years’ experience in HR, People, or Training roles — ideally in construction, engineering, or a trade-based environment.
- Proven success in managing apprenticeships or workforce training programmes.
- Strong understanding of Irish employment legislation and best practice HR processes.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills — with the confidence to engage at every level of the organisation.
- Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable — able to balance strategy with day-to-day delivery.
- CIPD qualification or Level 7+ degree in HRM, Business, or related field (desirable).
- Experience with Bright HR System (desirable)
