Our client a leading FMCG company dedicated to delivering high-quality consumer goods and outstanding customer service is recruiting a Payroll Specialist to join their Finance team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The Role
As Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for a diverse workforce. Working closely with HR, you’ll ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies, while supporting continuous improvement across payroll and HR systems in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payrolls for hourly and salaried employees in compliance with Irish tax and employment legislation.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payslips, deductions, and entitlements.
- Maintain payroll data in Payroll & HR systems and reconcile time & attendance records.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure seamless data integration.
- Manage payroll changes for new hires, leavers, and contract updates.
- Submit Revenue returns (PAYE Modernisation, PRSI, USC) and ensure statutory compliance.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and support audits and year-end processes.
- Monitor legislative updates and implement necessary changes.
- Maintain confidential payroll records in line with GDPR.
- Support system upgrades and payroll-related improvement projects.
- Provide cover for Finance team members as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in payroll processing, ideally in a high-volume or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue systems.
- Experience with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and discretion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- IPASS qualification (or currently pursuing).
- Familiarity with Payroll & HR systems.
- Exposure to volume payroll processing.
