Senior Operations Manager – Manufacturing | Meath
FRS Recruitment is currently seeking a Senior Operations Manager on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturing company based in County Meath.
Overview:
This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all site operations including production, quality, warehouse, and EHS functions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a strong background in manufacturing, operational excellence, and people development.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Leadership:

Lead and develop cross-functional teams in production, quality, warehouse, and EHS to drive operational excellence.

Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, building self-managing, high-performing teams.

Drive KPIs and ensure compliance with safety, quality, efficiency, and sustainability standards.

Develop and implement site-wide strategies that align with overall business goals.

Enhance the use of ERP systems to improve operational visibility, accuracy, and decision-making.

Champion Lean methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S) to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
Production Management:

Support the Production Supervisor in meeting output targets with minimal downtime and high-quality standards.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, resolve bottlenecks, and embed best practices.

Take ownership of plant performance and ensure all production KPIs are consistently achieved.
Quality Assurance:

Partner with the Quality Supervisor to uphold ISO 9001 standards and implement robust quality control processes.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address product quality issues.

Promote a proactive quality culture across all departments.
Warehouse & Inventory:

Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to maintain efficient inventory management and material flow.

Implement lean warehousing practices to optimize space, handling, and logistics.

Maintain accurate stock control systems and reporting.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS):
-
Collaborate with the EHS Supervisor to ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Lead initiatives to enhance the company’s safety culture and reduce environmental impact.

Support ISO 14001 compliance and sustainability goals.
Financial & Performance Management:

Manage site budgets and drive cost-effective operations.

Track and analyse key performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or performance.
Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years of proven experience in a senior operations or plant management role within a manufacturing environment (10+ years preferred).

Demonstrated success in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement frameworks.

Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.
-
Proven ability to deliver operational efficiencies, enhance product quality, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
