We are seeking a Design Engineer for our north Kerry based client.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working at the client's global headquarters on innovative products for this world leader in dairy equipment.
The role will involve the following:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for milking machines, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimise performance.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of prototypes and final products, identifying and resolving any issues.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and dairy technology, applying best practices and new techniques to product development.
- Support the manufacturing process by providing technical expertise and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the design and development process.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Participate in the selection and procurement of mechanical components and equipment.
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Experience in mechanical design and development
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and MS Office
- Experience with fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to dairy farming and milking equipment is a plus.
